The Wales Woodland Strategy sets PAWS restoration as an important priority to promote the revival of Wales’ native woodlands having survived many centuries of abuse and having to undergo recent waves of coniferisation.
Sustainable Forest Management is actively undertaking PAWS restoration programmes on a number of properties using different techniques in order to restore native woodland conditions under a variety of plantation species.

an approved planning agent for the management planning pilot exercise Philippe
Morgan is helping to elaborate new grant structures that support priorities
of the National Assembly for Wales’ strategy for woodlands.
